Fully Customizable Interface (Ver. 3.0) New

With the new 3.x version PhotoBrush got a new face-lift.

We added a modern interface that is faster and allows the full customization by users.

The most notable difference beside the docked properties is that the brush tool selection is now in its own dockable pane, by default docked to the bottom. It is divided into three sections: Basic Tools, Retouch and Effects.

Like with any other pane you can separate this tabbed pane into three floating or docked panes, optionally using autohide option. See below for details.

Reset Layout

In any time if you want to reset changes made to layout, use menu Tools - Reset layout.

Docking Panes

All the option panes such as Brushes, Color etc. are now fully dockable. You can dock them to any side or make them floating as you prefer.

There are many other things that you can do to the pane besides docking or undocking it.

Autohide Pane

Clicking on the push-pin on docked pane will make the pane autohide.

The Pane will automatically slide to the edge and can be re-called by clicking on its tab.

Roll-up Floating Pane

Clicking on the push pin on floating pane will create a Roll-up pane.

Such Pane will automatically roll-up when you move away from it and roll-down when you place cursor on top of it.

Group Panes

You can now group or ungroup panes to create tabbed pane for both floating or docked panes.

To group panes, drag the Caption bar of one pane over caption bar of second pane.

To remove pane from group, click on the tab of pane and drag it out of the pane.

Customize toolbars

This version allows you to fully customize shortcuts in menus or toolbars. You can also add your new toolbars with often used functions.

To start customizing, right-click anywhere on the menu or toolbar and select Customize.

A new customize window will appear. While this window is displayed you can customize the menu, toolbars or add/change shortcuts to tools.

In the example below we will add the Blur to Toolbar.

While the Customize window is open, go to tab Commands and find Blur in Categories, then select Blur in Commands list.

Now drag the Blur Item out of the window to toolbar:

Find a place in the toolbar and drop it there:

You can now right click on the Blur in the Toolbar and rename it, choose or edit icon for it. Of course you can leave it just text.

Note: You can grab whole submenu and place it on toolbar. For example in the Categories find Filters and then in commands drag the Blur > submenu to toolbar. This will place it as submenu to the toolbar:

New Toolbar
You can create new toolbar by simply clciking on the New in the Toolbars tab of Customize window.

This will create new empty toolbar where you can add your often used functions, instead of adding them to the Standard Toolbar.

Re-arrange toolbar
While the Customize window is open you can also re-arrange toolbars. To drop tool from toolbar simply drag it outside and release mouse.

Reset toolbars
If you want to reset all customization on a toolbar, go to tab Toolbars on Customize window, select Standard Toolbar and click Reset button.

Adding your own short-keys
You can set your own short-keys to the tools in the tab Keybord on the Customize window.

Tear-off menus
The sub-menus in Filter menu are tear-off. That means you can directly "tear-off" the menu and it becomes a toolbar.

To tear-off menu, click on the sub-menu grip and drag the menu out its place:

The tear-off toolbar will be created:

Note: The toolbar created this way is a copy of the sub-menu. the sub-menu still exist the same way.

This way, PhotoBrush will now let you to fully customize the interface to what you need.
