3.1
3.01
Fix for Win98/ME where properties dissapear when lose focus and About box show behind mainframe. What was the problem? Tooltip! One would really loose faith in these older operating systems. At least it wasn't my fault.
3.0
I am very proud to announce an up-coming new best-ever version of this popular graphic package, now it moves even more closely towards web design! There are many new interesting features waiting for you, read on:
- Real-Draw has now full wysiwyg HTML Slicing editor and export, you can use rollovers based on buttons or even directly using a bitmap effect. It is "smart" slicer, that means it will automatically use rowspan and colspan properties to create table exactly as you see it. It is probably the smartest slicer you have ever used.
Now you can create a whole web page with functional links and rollovers directly in Real-DRAW

- A Push-Back Tool which enable any Object (polynome, Bitmap, Text or Package) cross the layers. Just study the image below:

How hard this would be in your vector editor? Well, In Real-Draw 3.0 this is just a few seconds job: Draw three rings and then apply 3 x the Push-Back tool too each ring. It is really that simple. Did I say I invented this?
- Combine objects with boolean XOR, UNION, INTERSECTION, SUBSTRACTION

- Create Simple Shape from Combination of objects

- Un-Combine and Break Apart tools
- Fit text or any polynome around another polynome, path or text. Many interesting options
- Now you can seamlessly convert a paint or bitmap object into vector - simply paint something with bitmap brush, then select Convert to Polynome and you have an editable vector object!
I have not seen this feature anywhere else....

- Trace bitmap object similar way to create a shape. For example load image of your signature and vectorize it.
- Enhanced multiple selections - you can use layers list for multiple selection
- You can apply settings and styles to all objects in multiple selections or groups all together

- Enhanced Grouping with Expandable Groups in Layer List.
- Side-bar for even easier switching between properties.
This may clean up the property mess.

- New Pure Vector export formats such EPS, PDF, DXF
- Directly import True Type Font as Polynome without need to have it installed
- Many Enhancements to work easier such as:
- The control point handles of object now stays the same size with different zoom
- Re-designed Multimedia Extension bar - now it is called Web/Multimedia button
- Tab Bar for opened documents neatly on the bottom of screen

- Package window has now OK and cancel button

- Polynome last and first points now move together
- A number for each object in multiple selection to tell you the order. Great for boolean Subtraction

- You can change the shape of Round-Rectangle and Star during drawing with Arrows on your keyboard
- Few more drawing tools, now grouped in subselection toolbars (a small arrow near the tool will pop-up a subselection). New drawing tools included Simple Line, Toroid, Frame
- You can set DPI flag for JPG during Export
- And many more things and fixes
2.46 (current release)
- Another work on the font selection, this time it should be best from all (?)
- MMB related:
- Added Export for future multimedia extension to *.3SB (Alpha button) works with MMB 4.8.3 beta
- MEF adjustement - export MEF to MMB. The future MMB 5.0 (but also current 4.8.3 beta) now use Alpha buttons for interactive objects.
2.45
- More accurate Trim Canvas
- Trim Canvas+Padding (former Trim Canvas Expanded) will now always create larger Canvas than with Trim Canvas. The padding pixels are specified in General Settings (15 pixels by default)
- Zoom < 100 should produce now smooth image on all video adapters.
- Background in Packages can be now set to opaque - good to simplify some special cases, mostly when using Perspective Transformation.
- Font Selection in Text Object rewritten, now hopefully it is less resource demanding.
It also shows most recent used fonts on the top of the list and highlight them with yellow inside the list as well.
2.4
Perspective Transformation of Bitmap Objects and Packages
This is a high quality Perspective transformation tool where you can simply drag each corner of Package or Bitmap Object to rotate this in 3D space. Dragging corners is very easy and it allows you to align the perspective very precisely.
This is a very useful tool for building a 3D cubical object (such as the Book cover) or 3D environment from 2D elements.
- MegaRender to layered PSD
You can now save PSD with separate layers with the MegaRender feature. This will produce high-detailed images for Adobe Photoshop. Each object will have own layer and also each drop shadow will have its own layer.
- Preview of Project in Open window. When using Load, you can see a small preview of the project (only on files saved with 2.4 and newer)
- Fine Printing. The normal printing from 2.3 was renamed Draft Print and a new Fine Print was added. This uses MegaRender technology to produce and print image in the desired DPI. This largely improves all edges including text, it just takes longer.
Bump Map. The 3D Lights now have another option Bump Map. That means you can now have both different texture and bump map (previously you can use only object texture for bump map). This enhances the universality of Real-Draw lights even further and allows you to create textures and materials like never before.
- Packages with Canvas Crop
Normally Packages update the Canvas size automatically but in 2.4 you can disable this feature to crop your package by the Canvas Size. Good for caases such as the book cover image above.
- If you try to edit a Package, Real-Draw now check if a Package is already opened for editing and if so it brings it to top instead of opening yet another instance of the same package. Confusing? This was actually done to prevent such confussion.
- Some few UI additions.
2.3
- Combine now Union or XOR (before only XOR)
Combine can now combine two or more object with additional Union settings.

Even after you combine objects you can still change the settings from Union to XOR and vice versa with Change Mode.
- Surface Skin
To be able add even more realism to your images we added a new property - the Surface Skin. Surface Skin will add a very modest uniform texture on top of your object which can make the object looks natural. You can add various noises, skin types or other surfaces. With the size and intensity settings you can set the exact feel you need.

Here is a detail from an image done in Real-Draw. The Surface Skin add subtle natural details to drawing of the hand which now looks - well, almost like photo.
- Import Image - divided dialog
Now the Import Image dialog is divided into normal File open dialog with small preview from where you can go to large Image Resize & Crop window. (Previously the open & resize were all in one)
- Property Bars on computers with multiple monitors - now the floating bars don't check if they are on screen during initialization or not. That means if you use multiple monitors you can move the property bars to left or right screen and they will stay there on next run of RD.
To be on safe side: To restore the bars positions to default we included Reset to Default in menu View. (In case that you moved some bar completely out of sight by accident and now you wondering where it is)
- In a case of crash, next time RD will try to recover lost document from backup.
2.2
- Interactive non-destructive Lens Flare Effect.
Now you can spice-up your deep-space images :-)

This effect works like a Sparkle - you can use it on any object and it will turn it into a light source + lens flare. You can resize it, move it or send to other layers.
Read more in the help file
- TGA format is added into permanent export filters.
2.1 This update brings changes in transparency and enhances the UI
- You can now adjust the Linear and Radial Transparency more intuitive and with much more freedom by dragging the start and end handle. Also you have the ability to change the linearity of the transparency by dragging the linearity handle.
- Added Bilinear Transparency
- Added Burst transparency. (The transparency follow the shape of the object)
- Ability to set transparency to negative.
- Added Paint-On Transparency for Vector Objects. Besides all the great control over transparency, you can now paint additional transparency to the vector object with brushes! Great for making difficult blends or some additional bevel effects.
- Added Layer Opacity in the Layers bar.
- The Blend modes are now moved from Transparency into the Layer box which is more logical because they are in fact Layer modes
- The bottom-right handle now resize with keeping the object ratio, the same way as other corner handles. However you can use CTRL to allow freeform resizing (only the bottom - right handle). Also you can change this behavior in General settings.
- The dialog Bars are now skinable - also added skin for normal Windows Gray look. You can switch it in Project - General Settings.

There are currently only 2 skins ready with the installation - the default bluish and the Windows Gray. However you can create your own...
- Fast Switching between property bars. If you right-click on a bar caption - a list of other property bars will appear. By selecting different bar, the old one will hide and a new one will appear. This way you can easily cascade through various object options. Note: Layers, Color Memory, Size and Color Space are not included in the fast switch list.
- Adjust properties by numbers. Clicking with right mouse button on any slider or rotation control will show an edit space where you can directly change the value by typing in it. The edit will let you to enter only valid numbers and you can apply it by pressing Enter or Right clicking on it again. Esc will cancel the typed number.

- Some other minor UI shifts (like Blueprint buttons now on bottom bar and Color Pick on right bar)
2.0
This version is a serious leap from 1.x version. It adds many new and amazing features:
- 3D lights and matrial properties for any object. You can now create realistic shiny metals. Just check the images below or go to more details and help page for even more details. You can't really do this in any other 2D software with such outstanding quality!
- Packaging, new powerful way of grouping and cloning. Packages allows you to apply another layer of effects to them making it the most universal object ever invented.
- Full export to Adobe PhotoShop with separated all layers,
- Mega Render technology allowing you to render the design up to 10 times larger with outstanding quality.

It is not a photo, it is a result from Mega Render. |
- Cloning objects
- Color correction for each object separately
- Additional real-time Effects and Bevels such as Sparkle, Extrude, Blur, Defocus and much more
- Lens Effects - create glass objects which behaves like the real one.
- and more...
