Preparing Motion Graphics Part 3

Top  Previous  Next

So far I have all episodes menus and the Title menu for Disc 1.

For the Disc 2 I wanted to try a different approach - enough of the moving hills, Since the last episodes have a sci-fi undertones, I wanted to create a space animation, yet using the same technique of animating stills.

There is total of about 26 video tracks in this project.

It starts with a bird flying in a space and picking at the planets flying around.

The planets are made in Real-Draw PRO. Just to exercise the different approach, I used keyframes on the tracks, not on the objects itself, which allows me to use a different planet or object on the movements.

The bird is actually animated using two frames from the video (!)

This is from the regular feature on the show: "Think about it with professor Dave". That feature has been shot in Africa (really) using a normal video camera. It is a mockup of educational films, since here prof. Dave has usually no clue what is the name of the animal we see.

These two frames were copied over and over to create a short sequence.

Then Track motion has been used to make the bird fly and turn around.

There are few other small animations made in this title, for example the cop O'Really holding a planet earth as a car wheel etc. I had some fun with this! It all reuses the tricks I described before.

You can watch a very short clip of the animation beginning.
